The IACA Certified Career Advisor™ (CA) designation marks your commitment to continued excellence in career advising and ongoing education in the field. In order to maintain your status as a CA, you'll need to renew your IACA certification each year.

Keep up the great work.

To maintain your Certified Career Advisor™ (CA) designation, you will need to renew your IACA membership each year. Your renewal is due at the end of the month in which you first completed your certification. For example, if you completed your certification March 15, 2016, your renewal is due March 31, 2017.

Please submit the following each year:

  • Documentation showing that you’ve completed at least one three-hour continuing education course approved by the IACA Advisory Board.
  • $25 administration fee to help support quality resources.

Every five years you will be required to provide:

  • Documentation of passing the IACA Certified Career Advising Course™ renewal exam with a score of at least 85%.
